Imagine homes situated on top of a mountain range where organic farms teem with fruit-bearing trees or vegetables against the backdrop of forested mountains or near a first-rate country club yet lying only within a few minutes from the city.

This is how Filinvest is shaping the 677-hectare Timberland Heights, its largest upscale township development in San Mateo, Rizal – a mere 15 minutes from Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.

Timberland Heights is a master-planned ecological sanctuary of agro-forest farm estates and residential communities that rest on rolling hills, forested valleys and terraced farms. A Mandala resident can tend a terraced farm with his choice of vegetables or fruit crops strictly using all-organic farming techniques.

To achieve this, Timberland established an Agroforestry Center to serve as a technology and training center. It maintains a nursery that showcases the farming potentials of the estate with a vermin-culture facility for producing organic fertilizers.

Smaller lots ranging from 300 square meters to 500 square meters can be found at the Tropical-Asian themed Banyan Ridge, an exclusive residential community within Timberland Heights with only 87 open lots.

For those who prefer country living, The Ranch, an exclusive residential enclave, offers three choices of country homes with floor area of 120 square meters, 150 square meters and 180 square meters. Lot sizes range from 220 square meters to 450 square meters. A low-density community, The Ranch will only house a total of 122 lots within its 5.8 hectares development.

Exploring Mother Nature

Amid scenic views and lush landscapes, Timberland provides a vast setting to foster closer family ties or simply escape from it all.

About 50 percent of the entire estate is exclusively devoted to open spaces, including over 50 hectares of greenery that will become ecology parks called “Greenways”. These are ideal sites for camping, trekking, biking, horseback, riding, climbing, or even fishing.

Connecting the Greenways are “wooden vales, forested parks and sheltered glades” stretching 24 kilometers. Called “Nature Trails”, they are winding and wooded paths that make exploring Mother Nature a pleasurable adventure.

Leisure on higher grounds

Leisure rests on higher grounds at the 9-hectare Timberland Sports and Nature Club, a first-rate exclusive membership club in a “mountain-resort setting” within Timberland Heights.

Residents of Quezon City and neighboring communities east of Manila can enjoy world-class recreational lifestyle at an elevation of 345 meters above sea level, which provides breathtaking views of the Sierra Madre mountain ranges, Manila Bay and, Ortigas and Makati Skyline.

Completing its first phase in 2007, the club features 89,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor amenities and facilities, including a five-level club building with a gross floor area of 16,000 square meters.

There will be a horizon-edge swimming pool, spa lounge, family restaurant, music bar, gym, indoor climbing wall, and multi-purpose courts for badminton, basketball and tennis.

Second-phase expansion will cater to corporate needs for convention and banquet facilities, including a grand ballroom, and nature areas for team-building activities such as ropes course, canopy walk and camping grounds, plus overnight accommodations.
